Ahhhh That's More Like It!!

Finally! Autumn as I dream of it is here!  The days are so beautiful now, and I am enjoying every single one of them!  Today I grabbed my camera, got in my truck and took off to have a little fun.  I was wearing a sweatshirt which was perfect (of course~ sweatshirts are ALWAYS perfect if you ask me) and the breeze was just enough that I was darn glad I had it.  The sun was warm on my face and felt calming and comforting.  The color I found on my search for beauty to photograph was simply brilliant, and I was just a happy camper!

I don't get a lot of  "just me" days in my life and I'm okay with that, but as a result I sure have learned to appreciate those days when they do come along.  I've always been somewhat of a people person, and enjoy having my family and friends around all the time.  I grew up in a household that welcomed company from near and far with open arms and have always believed in a "the more the merrier" philosophy!  It's just been in the last few years that I've learned to really embrace the "me" days when they come my way.  Since I've been sick, my family isn't too keen on me just taking off on a driving expedition alone, but they're pretty cool about it if I promise not to stray too far from home!!  Yes, they hover a bit, but I don't begrudge them that.  I'd do it too if I were them I suppose.  It's kind of funny when you think about it though since I'm sneaking up on year number 46 here pretty quickly!   Ahhh, at any rate, I guess my point is that "me days" are just one more thing that I learned to appreciate as a result of getting sick.  There's a primitive beauty in not having a real plan, having hours on end to do with as you please, and no need to feel that those hours need to be especially productive!  Thinking back on my day, I feel a bit indulgent, and spoiled and I'm 100% okay with that!

Other things I'm grateful for today:
  • My garage looks AMAZING! Thank you Aaron and Chris~ you guys rock!
  • Utah time at the end of this week~ YAY!  So looking forward to that trip for SO many reasons!
  •  My spiritual bucket is filling after what seemed like there might have been a hole in it (below the half way mark!)
  • I had an awesome two weeks with my Mar Mar and while I hated to see her go home, I know she'll be back very soon.  I'm so grateful for the inspiration that she is to me!
  • My friend JulieAnne is a cancer ninja and got a great report from the pathology dept after her surgery last week! Awesome prognosis.. awesome woman!
Oh there's more to add to that list, but I'd be here all night!

Still hoping... still believing.. still right where I need to be!
